Health Visitors

A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

Emma Greenhalgh (f)

Emma provides a Social Prescribing Link service. She is hosted by Lostock Hall Medical Centre but works for the 7 local practices that comprise the Ribble Medical Group. She is employed by Age Concern. Her role is to assist GPs and NPs in identifying patients with social issues such as isolation, loneliness and financial pressures, and look to empower them to improve their lives through social engagement and changes in lifestyle. In particular, links are made with other services in the community and sources of advice. 

In the expanded facilities of its new (from March 2019) Dardsley home, the practice hosts a growing range of external clinics, currently including:

Phlebotomy (Blood Sampling)

Podiatry

Physiotherapy

Diabetic Eye Screening

On behalf of the Ribble Medical Group of 7 local practices, Lostock Hall Medical Centre also hosts a Social Prescribing service
